Roma recover two key stars ahead of tense Bayer Leverkusen clash
Daniele De Rossi and Roma have received some good news from Trigoria ahead of the Europa League semi-final clash with Bayer Leverkusen, recovering two key stars.
The Giallorossi are gearing up for the most important two matches of their season, a tie that could see them progress to the Europa League final in Dublin. De Rossi’s side impressed in the quarterfinals, beating Milan 3-2 on aggregate.
De Rossi has transformed Roma since taking over in January but now he’ll face his toughest test – Bayer Leverkusen. The Bundesliga champions are still undefeated across all competitions under Xabi Alonso this term and have their sights set on another trophy.
Roma recoveries
As announced today, Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling both completed the entirety of the squad training session with De Rossi and their Roma teammates at Trigoria today, putting them on track to take part in the coming Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday.
It wasn’t all good news, however. Lorenzo Pellegrini trained individually today, carefully managing his condition, but he is still expected to be part of the squad against the German champions.
